Can I recycle my old office furniture?

The short answer is, yes! But that doesn’t tell you very much, does it? Recycling office furniture is an important consideration in any refurbishment project, however, and at CamHam we have quite a bit of experience in this arena.

How do we recycle office furniture?

One of the services we offer is office clearance. Now, obviously, this has given us the opportunity to recycle a lot of old office furniture, and there are three main ways we do this.

We sell used office furniture

You might be moving offices. You might be revamping an existing office. You might even be shutting up shop, not that we wish that on anyone. But, needless to say, there are many reasons why a business clears out their old office furniture. However, just because one business has decided its office furniture has had its day, that doesn’t mean another business can’t benefit from its offering instead.

Re-selling used office furniture is an important part of our operation.  We’ve made it so because we genuinely think that recycling furniture this way is of benefit to the planet. So we are very keen to facilitate companies being as green as they can be too, and reusing office furniture is a key strategy for achieving this.

We hire out office furniture

Any used office furniture that comes to us is carefully assessed. If it is still fit for purpose, we will refurbish the slightly blemished items and either resell them (as per above) or make them available for hire.

Hiring office furniture on a short term (or long term) basis often suits certain types of business. If work is seasonal, then hiring office furniture just for the time it’s required negates the need for it to be stored. If work ebbs and flows, the short term hire of office furniture helps a business take on temporary staff as and when they need to.

Exhibitions, events and conferences often see a very short term need for furniture, and few businesses want to actually store it for the rest of the time. Hiring is an ideal solution.

So, as you see, your old office furniture will often be recycled and get a new lease of life.

We break down worn out office furniture into its component parts

There are, of course, always items that are just too tired and worn to be used any more. In these cases, our team will break each piece down into its constituent parts and recycle the elements via our recycling partners. Our operation is about as green as you can get.
